Kim Peterson, a work in progress

There is almost next to nothing about 1990s fitness personality Kim Peterson or Kimberly Peterson. She took part in fitness competitions and supposedly hosted short segments on ESPN shows about bodybuilding. You know, I really miss the heyday of poofy haired female body builders who didn't go overboard.

Kathy Derry

Fitness Beach
will be delved into at a later date, but I'm going to say that Kathy Derry was my favorite one out of the bunch. She used to be on Prime Bodies sporting one of the strangest soccer mom meets 1980s weird-girl hairstyles ever. Yet, she made it look good. It's unfortunate I don't have a cap of that so I can show you what I'm talking about. Her 'do on the cover of one of the Firm videos is the closest I can conjure up:

Not the best pic, but believe me, she looked great on Prime Bodies.

Anyway, if that doesn't suit you well, enjoy these gifs of Kathy Derry making ab workouts look surprisingly sexy.

And now for a cool down.

Terri

This breaks the theme of "90s babes" due to posting an entry regarding a 2002 swimsuit special. However, Terri was very much a part of the 1990s thanks to the WWE Attitude Era. I can't say that I was a big fan of her onscreen roles though. She was mainly a heel and I didn't like the "Pretty Mean Sisters" stable that she was in. She looked great with her Marlena character though. A few years ago, I obtained a copy of WWE Diva swimsuit DVD of Tropical Pleasure. During Terri's segment, there's a stunning scene about thirty seconds in where Terri is posing and a bunch of birds are flying in the background. Also at that very moment, I didn't realize that Terri was packing some biceps, which is always a plus. She looks unbelievably hot during her segment.

There's also a part a woman is rubbing oil on Terri's chest and Terri's teasing the camera in regards to it. Here's a gif of it:

I actually capped this sequence from the DVD but I'll promise that at a later date.

Smithers...Smithers...

I mean, Beri Smither. I honestly don't know much about Beri Smither but I remember seeing a picture of her in a fashion magazine in 1996 and thinking she was very pretty. Despite her being from Oregon, I think Beri has a very "Euro" look. She has a tall and slender figure coupled with a very stern yet beautiful gaze that seems more in tune with her fellow Western European peers. Back in 1998, Beri managed to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Here are a few caps/gifs I made from the television special.

I wish there would have been more shots of her in this orange two piece. She looks amazing here.

Looking cute in an artsy two piece.

Here's Beri messing around with her bikini bottom.

And finally, Beri in all her sandy glory.

Cory Everson appreesh post #1

Cory Everson doing an arm stretch = stunning. This cap was taken from her 1995 Body, Mind, and Soul CD-Rom, which I do not have unfortunately. A lot of people seem to prefer Cory Everson back in her Ms. Olympia days rather than her post-competition figure of the 1990s to present day. I personally prefer the latter since that's how I originally became familiar with her. The summer before 7th grade, I discovered ESPN-2 morning programming on accident. Cory had a show called Gotta Sweat. There was something about Cory that I took a liking to. She had a tastefully muscular and fit physique, and she also had a likable and bubbly personality. It's like she managed to balance the vibe of the typical blonde valley girl with that type of girl that was somewhat nerdy yet very "cool." I also liked how she tended to wear the more revealing outfits than her workout partners. She was the star of the show after all. I'm sure if you were a fan, you didn't tune in to see Cory wear long tights.

Be honest because you definitely tuned in to see Cory wear what's pictured above and other similar attire. Come on, I can't be the only one!

This is going to be the first of many Cory Everson appreciation posts. Definitely check back in because I'll share some caps that I made from youtube videos and elsewhere. Here's another cap for your enjoyment until then. Strange how Cory can make a butterfly stretch look cute.

The First Entry

What is up, my fellow readers. Are you passing through because of a search engine query? Well, let me explain what you're getting into. I grew up in the pre-Internet boom 1990s. It was a time where due to limited resources, I was able to formulate ideas of what I found attractive in regards to females. As I look back on it, my taste was somewhat strange and went from one extreme end to the other. Thanks to Shape magazine, I found fit bodies to be extremely attractive. I also didn't mind a little muscle as long as it wasn't too cartoonish.

If I had to give an example, it would be Cory Everson. She hosted Gotta Sweat, a morning fitness show that lasted from 1995-1999. Expect to see many posts about her.

In pop culture at the time, many "underground" fashions were starting to creep up on the mainstream. There was slacker-chic, heroin-chic, the waif, the punk, the alterna-rocker, etc. Quite a few supermodels that weren't in the same class as Cindy Crawford were sporting this look. With all due respect to Cindy Crawford(who'll most likely be posted about in the near future), her look at the time was very tasteful compared to someone like Sibyl Buck, who sported a waifish alterna-rocker look. I have to give thanks to the Crawford hosted MTV show House of Style for informing me of her existence when I was eleven.

Sibyl ended up leaving the modeling industry for motherhood and musical endeavors. Along with other models like Beri Smither and Shalom Harlow, I developed an interest in the atypical supermodel of the 1990s.

So basically, in a nutshell, this blog is a somewhat perverted and oddball tribute to women I found attractive. So bring on the cease and desist orders, or at least laugh with me over my somewhat offbeat tastes. Now if one of you can find me a woman who can balance being fit and hip, I'll be forever in your debt, haha.

So stick around. I'll try to keep this up for as long as I can.
